          Freddie King

    Family background: Freddie's father was born in the Republic of Guinea and his mother was born in the Ukraine. He himself was born in London's East End and lived in Guinea as a boy.

    Freddie has appeared in many jazz festivals across the UK as a band leader or guest of a band.

    He has played with many established jazz musicians, for example:
    • Frank Perowsky (Lisa Minnelli)
    • Bobby Wishart Band
    • Geoff Castle (Nucleus)
    • Brian Kellock (Handful of Keys)
    • Stan Robinson (Ronnie Scott group)
    • Demagogue Reacts (Belgian jazz group)
    • Synthesis (US University Big Band)

    He has studied in New York with Mark Soskin (Sonny Rollins).

    During the last two years he has travelled to Sydney, Kuala Lumpur, and New York, performing in various jazz clubs and building up his reputation as a top international singer.

    His release of his album DIGGIN’ DEEP received rave reviews by the music press and can be heard on his myspace website.
